Renting a vehicle in Colombia usually rests on a Word contract, a photocopied ID and the judgment of whoever is at the counter. When the vehicle does not come back, none of the three help.
The weak point is verification, not the contract
Small and mid-size rental operators handle the visible part well: they quote, sign and hand over. The weak point sits before the signature. Renter verification is usually a glance at an ID card and, at best, a search for the name online.
That holds until it does not. A vehicle that never returns costs the whole asset, and the insurer will ask exactly what verification was done before handover.
The Ruvi rentals module puts verification inside the flow. Before the contract is generated, the renter goes through identity validation and the platform returns a viability report. If something does not add up, you find out first rather than later.

List the vehicle
Any class: light, heavy cargo or yellow public service. Rates, availability and terms live on the listing, and the vehicle stays inside the same inventory you manage for maintenance and documents.
Verify the renter
Document capture plus a selfie with liveness. The platform validates identity against regulatory sources and returns a viability report before you sign.
Sign and take the deposit
The contract is generated from data that is already validated. Deposit and rental payment run through local rails, without forcing the customer to hold an international card.
Hand over with evidence
Timestamped handover photos, vehicle condition and starting mileage. The same record is taken on return and the comparison is documented.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be a large rental company to use it?
No. The module targets operations running 10 to 80 vehicles on rent, which is where manual verification starts to fail and a custom system is still hard to justify.
Is KYC required on every contract?
No. You enable it per contract based on the risk. A repeat corporate client does not need the same level of checking as a new renter walking in on a Friday afternoon.
Can I rent out public-service vehicles?
Yes. The platform supports light, heavy cargo and yellow public-service classes, each with its own documentation fields.
How is the rentals module billed?
On top of the per-vehicle subscription there is a transaction fee per rental contract and a verification fee when you enable full KYC.
What happens if the renter gets a traffic fine?
The fine shows up on the same fleet dashboard once the SIMIT lookup detects it, linked to whichever contract was active on that date.
